Features / Particular about CHASTA
Simple shape for easy washing
Opened top for easy access to every parts of the body. The inside is smooth with no grooves so that tea leaves can be removed in a single rinse. Dishwasher-safe and bleachable.
Light and not getting hot
Tritan, a lightweight, durable, and heat-resistant material, is used. The thickness of the sides has been adjusted in millimeter increments to accommodate heat transfer. It can be comfortably held in your hand even when filled with boiling water.
Smooth pouring design
The spout is shaped to cut off the hot water perfectly. The body can be tilted vertically to pour the last drop.
The handle-less design
This takes up less space for storage.
Perfectly fits in your hands
The design is inspired by "Katakuchi", a Japanese-style pitcher for Sake. The symmetric shape allows you to hold it in either hand. (1~2 cups: 250ml in full)
Removable tea strainer
The transparent filter can be used on either the front or back side, depending on the fineness of the tea leaves, to adjust the brewing density. The filter is attached to the spout of the main body and is locked in place by the lid.
A stainless filter
has been added.
The renewal CHASTA has
further expanded its uses and
made it easier to use.
Finer tea and coffee can also be brewed!
A new stainless filter is used for fine tea leaves and coffee. Coffee oil is absorbed when brewed through a paper filter, but with CHASTA, the oil is extracted directly from the coffee. The aroma, richness, and flavor of the coffee bean itself is enhanced. The stainless steel filter can also be used with the conventional CHASTA.
Groove for preventing the filter to come off.
The groove on the spout has been deepened so that the filter can be set firmly and is easier to handle.
Unbreakable!?
High-function synthetic resin Tritan
Developed by Eastman Corporation, an American material manufacturer. It has a beautiful luster, is lightweight, has excellent impact, heat, and chemical resistance, and does not contain bisphenol A (BPA), which is considered a harmful environmental hormone. It is also used for baby bottles due to its safety and convenience.
VARIOUS SCENES Multi-purpose at the table and in the kitchen
No odor transfer and alcohol resistant.
The simple design allows it to be used as a bowl as it is,
and it is also useful for cooking.

Development Story To pass on Japanese tea culture to the next generation, we would like to create the "ultimate" teapot that suits the modern age.
Plastic bottled beverages and tea bags are very convenient. But the flavor, color, and taste of tea brewed from tea leaves are exceptional. We would like many people to savor the true deliciousness of tea and experience the "wabi-sabi" that is detached from everyday life, that sentiment made us to start developing a new teapot.
*Wabi-sabi : It is a Japanese aesthetic that values the beauty in imperfection, impermanence and simplicity.
PROFILEKyoeseicha Co., Ltd.
Futoshi Nishizaka
President
He joined the company in 2006. While studying management and marketing, he was shocked to learn that the consumption of leaf tea per household was decreasing. He started developing CHASTA with the aim of making the act of brewing tea more stylish.
After three years of repeated verification and prototyping, it was finally completed.
First, we collected more than 100 teapots and thoroughly analyzed their usability, the shape, material, ease of holding, ease of washing, etc. Various aspects were verified and improved each one step by step. "What do people accustomed to bottled drink seek in tea brewed with teapot?" The conclusion we arrived at were the following three points.
- A handle-less shape for easy storage
- Durable, lightweight, and beautiful Tritan material
- Capacity of 200 ml (about 1 mug or 2 regular teacups)
Changing the custom and time of making tea from "What used to be" to "what should be now".
For those who are already familiar with tea, we would like to make tea more deeply enjoyable. For the younger generation, it can be used as a tool to enjoy the new experience of "tea brewed in a teapot". For families with children, CHASTA is one aspect of learning the virtues of Japan through food education. We hope that the Japanese tea culture will take root in our daily lives and be passed on to the next generation through the time and customs of brewing tea.
We have recently renewed the CHASTA to make it easier to use, based on comments from customers who are already using it. A stainless filter for brewing fine tea leaves and coffee has been added to the set, making it even more versatile.
We would be delighted if you could use it everyday.

Since its establishment in 1836 in Uji, Kyoto as "Morihan Tea Factory", we have always been committed to tea. We are committed to safety, security, and deliciousness, and we will continue to pursue the appeal of tea through innovation while carrying on our history and traditions.
The hard part was adjusting the thickness of the sides. A certain thickness is necessary to hold the body by hands when it is filled with boiling water. However, the more the thickness is increased, the larger the exterior becomes, making it difficult for people with small hands to hold it, and if the exterior size is maintained, the content volume decreases. We also struggled with the shape of the filter hole. If the holes were too large, too many tea leaves would come out, and if they were too small, no extraction would be possible. We repeated prototyping many times, and the total number of prototypes for the body and filter was 20. Finally, we decided on a shape and design that we were satisfied with.
